Bernard Pretorius
Trip Support Supervisor/Sales
My interest in aviation started 22 years ago at age 18, when I assisted in the management of a small fleet of aircrafts for use at skydiving clubs, private charter and student pilots training.
After completing a diploma in travel and tourism, I joined South African Airways as a flight attendant, receiving the best new recruit award. Building on this experience I went on to join Qatar Airways a few years later as fast track senior crew, again receiving the best new recruit award.
A little over a year later I decided that I wanted a change from Schedule airlines and joined the world of corporate charter. This offered me a more hands-on dealing with the operational side of things.
I worked as crew manager and outstation manager in many parts of the world for clients including the United Nations, governments and large business consortiums. From this grew my career as VIP crew.
I decided to conclude my flying career in September 2014 after nearly 3years at TAG Aviation Geneva as a VIP flight attendant. I felt it was time for me to move into yet another part of the aviation industry.
I joined Myjetops as international flight follower, with the view to become a dispatcher once qualified. Less than a year later now and I have completed my FAA dispatch course and am a licensed FAA flight dispatcher. I head up the international flight and trip planning department at MJO.
I believe my success in all aspects of life, not only aviation, is due to absolute commitment and striving for exceptional service delivery.
Outstanding personalised service is what set us apart from the next company out there in a very competitive industry. It is important to realize every client is an individual and that their needs are very specific. If you can identify and excel at meeting their expectations you have done an honest day’s work.
